Here’s a quick glance at the five graduate degree-granting colleges at SHU.
The College of Arts & Sciences is SHU’s largest graduate college. With its wide array of programs, students can easily find a graduate degree that will advance their career and offer them the hands-on training they need to realize their professional goals. The College of Arts & Sciences aims to prepare strong leaders and contributors to local, national, and global communities. Programs in the College of Arts and Sciences include everything from chemistry to criminal justice, psychology, public administration, and more. The College of Arts & Sciences also houses the School of Communication, Media & the Arts and the School of Social Work.
The College of Arts & Sciences offers innovative facilities for graduate student use, such as the Martire Center for the Liberal Arts, which includes the SCMA Studios.
The Jack Welch College of Business & Technology is where innovation and entrepreneurship come to life in our graduate students’ projects and problem solving. Mentored by industry-leading faculty members, students are regularly exposed to seasoned corporate visitors and expert speakers in addition to career-building network opportunities. Graduate students in the The Jack Welch College of Business & Technology complete programs in fields such as strategic human resource management, cybersecurity and IT, finance and investment management, and business administration and analytics. The college itself also houses the School of Computer Science & Engineering.
The Jack Welch College of Business & Technology offers students hands-on education and accredited programs. The college is accredited by the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB) and the New England Association of Schools and Colleges (NEASC). Students have access to a full-time faculty that brings over 879 years of combined corporate experience to the curriculum.
The College of Health Professions is based out of our recently constructed, state-of-the-art Center for Healthcare Education. This modern, student-focused facility provides unparalleled opportunities for lab and simulation hands-on learning experiences, ideal career preparation and exposure for graduate students interested in healthcare.
Graduate students have access to programs focused on in-demand fields of healthcare, such as occupational therapy, speech language pathology, and public health. In our graduate programs, the classroom curriculum does not follow a traditional lecture, study, and test method. Rather, students are taught in teams by teacher-practitioners. This allows students to hone their skills in cutting-edge labs, participate in exceptional internship opportunities, and even travel the world with SHU’s Global Health program.
The Davis & Henley College of Nursing is where the next generation of advanced nurses are preparing to make a difference in our world. Housed in the recently constructed Center for Healthcare Education, graduate students can study in a wide variety of nursing programs, many of which offer hybrid and online learning options. Each of our evidence-based graduate programs is taught by practicing professionals. With nursing simulation and critical skill labs, you will graduate with the confidence and competence you need to help patients heal and prevent illness.
The Davis & Henley College of Nursing is fully accredited by the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE). Students can have confidence they are receiving a world-class education that not only meets but exceeds standards in the field. Sacred Heart offers a post-baccalaureate Doctor of Nursing Practice degree with a Family Nurse Practitioner focus. Students will graduate with the knowledge and experience to practice autonomously as a Family Nurse Practitioner diagnosing and treating patients in a wide variety of settings.
The Farrington College of Education offers graduate programs ranging from teacher preparation, literacy specialist and administrator certifications, a certificate or advanced study in STEAM and the nation's first Educational Leadership doctorate focused on Social, Emotional and Academic Leadership. The Farrington College of Education is recognized by The Council for Accreditation of Educator Preparation (CAEP) for its national excellence in preparing tomorrow’s educators.
